Timothy Slayter
Mr. Slayter has nearly 23 years of experience in education. He has been an elementary school teacher, a summer-school site administrator, a team leader at an advanced placement center and served as an assistant principal at Glen Forest Elementary School. Mr. Slayter served as a principal at Bucknell Elementary School and Cameron Elementary School.
Mr. Slayter earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. In addition, he earned his Master of Arts degree in Teaching from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. He has completed course work in elementary education and graduate course work in counseling. Mr. Slayter has his Virginia Administration and Supervision Endorsement.
Mr. Slayter is looking forward to learning about the rich traditions, meeting students, families and staff, and embracing Fort Hunt for the wonderful school community it is.

Katherine Pluntke
Mrs. Katie Pluntke is a graduate of The University of New Hampshire with a degree in communication. She received her Masters of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received endorsement in leadership and supervision from The University of Mary Washington. She has been a 2nd, 4th, and 5th-grade teacher at Belle View Elementary in Fairfax County for 8 years, and an assistant principal there for 7 years.
She is an avid New England sports fan, enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband, school-aged daughter, family, and friends.
Mrs. Pluntke takes pride in working closely with our students, staff, and families of Fort Hunt Elementary.
