Fort Hunt offers a Spanish immersion program. Students enrolled in this partial immersion program learn Spanish through math, science & social students for half of the instructional day. All students have language arts in English for the other half of the day.

Fort Hunt partners with an active PTA that supports a wide range of community events including a Fall Fest, a Fox Trot race that has been run for more than 20 years, Dance Around the World, and a Spring Carnival. There are many clubs offered for students after school.

Fort Hunt is a proud partner with the Pulley Center just up the street. We provide opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities to engage in career-readiness activities while the students support our school with the many office and cleaning tasks they complete.

Growing Green: Celebrating Our Green Flag Award and Student Garden Club!
Fort Hunt received the Green Flag Award from the National Wildlife Federation through the EcoSchools U.S. program. Our student Garden Club, led by staff and parents, allows students to learn about pollination, garden planning and crop raising. We have a beautiful enclosed garden on our campus that is visited by all students.
Military-Friendly Excellence: Proudly Recognized as a Purple Star School!
Fort Hunt is recognized by the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children as a Purple Star School. The Purple Star designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated their commitment to meeting the needs of military-connected students and their families.
