Transitional Support for Military Families

Military Family Registration

Fort Hunt Elementary wants to help your family transition to our community

Fort Hunt Elementary is proud to offer extra support to our Military Families. The school’s designated point of contact is Family Liaison, Christina Schauss (@email). Christina works to build relationships with families and assists military-connected students with the unique challenges that these students experience.

Fort Hunt Elementary School has a student ambassador program for new military-connected students. New military-connected students will be connected with an older student who will welcome the new student to Fort Hunt by showing them around the school and helping build new relationships. Please ask about this when you register with Rosa Dobarcco.

The Fort Hunt PTA Military Family Outreach email is @email. The PTA aims to provide a variety of Military outreach events every year.   Past events and future events planned include: Military parent coffee hour, Coast Guard Helicopter visit, Purple Up! Day celebrations - including purple items - shirts, backpacks and more purchased by the PTA, Month of the Military Child events, Warrior Dog visits, Special military student breakfasts, ice cream social, extra recess and more!  Please reach out to this email to participate and help grow our programing. .

To help make your transition easier, Department of Defense (DOD) employees from each branch of service provide a School Liaison Officer or a point of contact. School Liaison Officers are the primary point of contact for school-related matters and assist military families with school issues.
